Brew to Brew is a 44.4 mile solo or relay race
with runners traversing on roads and trails from
downtown Kansas City, Missouri to Lawrence, Kansas.
*The race will cap at 3500 runners & registration will close. In past years, this has occurred as early as one month prior to the race. *
Team registration is simplified if one team member registers the entire team.
Pricing: $43 per runner until 3/07/18 and then $53 per runner. $10 of the fee is donated directly to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. There is an additional credit card processing and online fee of $3.90 per person.
All Teams need to have a team leader in charge.
This person will be responsible for getting the team registered, including purchasing meal tickets and apparel (neither are included in the registration fee). Team managers must have the full name, birth date, and gender of their team members before registration. Team managers will pay for their team, and all additional costs at the time of registration. On race day the team leader will ensure that their runners and vehicles adhere to the guidelines in the race packet. Print your team worksheet.
Runners also may purchase apparel at the after party. Meal tickets will be available while supplies last online, at packet pickup and at the door of Abe and Jakes in Lawrence.

PACERS: Pacers are welcome, should register as a solo runner and will be assigned a bib number. Pacers may run the entire course or parts of it, but should not cross the finish line if they have not completed the entire course. Pacers are required to pay the full registration fee including the $10 gift to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and cannot be added once the cap is reached.
VEHICLES: Only one vehicle per team is allowed at the exchange points and must have the team number sign provided in the windshield. Large vans are welcome, but refrain from bringing large buses. It is very important to keep the flow of traffic moving. Space is limited at all exchange points. Vehicles must abide by all traffic rules along the course.
SOLO SUPPORT CREW: Solo runner’s may have a support vehicle. Vehicles must abide by all traffic laws along the course.
EMERGENCY AID: All exchange points will be staffed with a medical professional. Carry a cell phone for emergencies.
EXCHANGE POINT AID: Exchange points will have water and Gatorade for relay runners. The following food items will be available for solo runners only: boiled/salted potatoes, salt tabs, bananas, peanut butter & jelly, candy, cookies and more. Teams should carry water and food in their vehicles. Exchange point supplies are for the runners finishing the leg.
PARKING AT THE START: If you need to park your car in KC for the day, park on the street. The Roasterie lots will be locked at 5pm on Sunday. Just dropping your team member off? There is parking all around the Roasterie building and across the street from their cafe. If you have a bus or very large vehicle, park on Southwest Boulevard
EXCHANGE POINT PARKING: Each team is responsible for transporting their runners to the correct location at the correct time. Teams are allowed one vehicle at the exchange points and that vehicle must display in the windshield the team route sign provided in your packet. Your team can have additional vehicles to transport runners but only ONE vehicle will be allowed in the exchange point. Additional vehicles can park or wait outside the exchange point. Large vans are okay, but please no big buses.
An explanation of how to handle your vehicles and runners: Once you drop runner #1 off at the start, you will drive to Exchange #1 to drop off runner #2 and pick up runner #1. Repeat this process for all ten legs. A team may have multiple vehicles on the course if necessary (each person must have a seat belt.) However, there may only be one vehicle per team, (the one with your sign in the windshield) at each exchange point to minimize traffic. If your team is using two vehicles, we recommend putting runners #1-5 in one vehicle and runners #6-10 in the second vehicle. You can maintain communication between vehicles via morse code (or if you prefer, a passenger text messaging).
START: The race start is at 27th Street and Southwest Boulevard. Start times are staggered in 10 minute blocks from 6:00 to 9:30 a.m.. You will receive your exact start time before packet pickup. Solo runners start at 6:00 a.m.
OUT OF TOWN RUNNERS: Out-of-town teams are encouraged to start from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00a.m to give yourself time to drive in. If you are coming in the day before, the closest hotels are The Westin Crown Center, Hyatt, and Best Western (on Southwest Boulevard).
CUT-OFF TIMES: Based upon a 13:38 minutes/mile pace, (to finish very near 4 pm with a 6am start.) We will be at the finish line until 5pm.
If you drop out of the race, please give your bib number to the closest volunteer/exchange point. This is very important so we know you are safe and not missing.
PACKET PICKUP: Packet Pickup will be Saturday afternoon from Noon to 5pm and Race morning, from 5:30 to 9:30am, inside the Roasterie at 1204 W 27th Street, Kansas City MO 64108.

SAFETY: IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT TO PAY ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES. YOU WILL BE RUNNING ALONGSIDE MOVING TRAFFIC, CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS AND IN AREAS WITH LOW DRIVER VISIBILITY.
